Citroen CX Gallery 3

This is the estate version, or “Safari” as it was branded. Not as absolutely beautiful as its saloon counterpart, in my very humble opinion, but still an amazing car and a truly outstanding case as far as estate cars go (and I should know because my father owned a cartload of them). It was akin to those big Volvo estates like the 245 in the respect that it was huge inside, and I distinctly remember even as a boy to notice how superior it was spatially to almost all other cars. It was almost 5 metres in length, and could carry mindboggling amounts of cargo. For my dad, it was the perfect compromise: a family car that can take the wife and kids, and also half the house in the boot; and a work-horse that could lug cartloads of merchandise around East London on an average workday.
